Week of November 8th-12th

A look at what we will be studying this week.........
  • In Language Arts we will be discussing sequencing by using words like first, next, and last.  We will continue to write using beginning, middle, and end.  We will talk about plural nouns and how some of them have special rules.
  • In Math we will discuss greater than and less than, patterns, patterns on a hundred chart, and problem solving.
  • In Social Studies will continue our unit on Thanksgiving by comparing and contrasting our lives today to the lives of those who lived during the Colonial times. We will be talking about "chores" and "food" of the Olden Days.
Homework for the week..........

We will no longer be doing DLR each night.  We have reexamined the homework load for the second graders and feel that taking out the DLR will reduce the amount of time spent on homework each night.
