A look at what we will be studying this week.........

• In Language Arts we will be working on our final copy of "Letters to a First Grader"  Each student was assigned a first grader and wrote to them about what to expect in second grade. 
• In Math we will start with Chapter 15 "Model Multiplication and Division"

A Few Other Things...............

• Please continue to read for the Reading Calendar, it will be due the last day of school.
• The summer reading English books are on sale at Metro Media. You will need to buy the books for Second Grade. Spanish books (for summer reading) will be sold by Metromedia on Tuesday May 31st in school.
• We will be having Field Day on Friday (in the morning).  The moms will be having shirts made for field day. 
• We will be having pizza for lunch and a movie as a reward for their good behavior on Friday afternoon.  You do not need to send a lunch on Friday.
• Happy Birthday to Natalia R. on May 27th, Emonee on May 30th, and Adriana on May 13th.
• The last day of school is Tuesday, May 31st.  The students get out at 11:00.

Week of May 16th - May 20th

A look at what we will be studying this week.........

• In Language Arts we will be working on identifying parts of a book 
• In Math we will continue with Chapter 14. We will be adding and subtracting three digits numbers with regrouping.
• In Science we will continue with our unit on Animals. We will be looking at Chapter 3 and discussing food chains.

A look at what we will be studying this week.........

• In Language Arts we will be working on Homonyms and using them correctly.  We will also discuss the author's purpose for writing.
• In Math we will work on Chapter 14.  We will be adding and subtracting three digits numbers with regrouping.
• In Science we will continue with our unit on Animals. We will be looking at Chapter 3 and discussing food chains.

• Please make sure your child brings in a water bottle each day.
• Please leave the reading calendar in the folder. We check EVERY Monday.
• We are out of kleenexes again! Please consider picking up an extra box to donate to the class the next time you are out shopping. 
• Congratulations to our Musical Performers on a wonderful performance: Cristiana, Lizza Fernanda, Adriana, Emonee, Carla, Natalia S. Natalia R., Ana Mercedes, Valentina, and Isabella.
• There will be an etiquette club lunch on Tuesday for Valeria, Natalia R., Crisitina, Joseph, and Natalia S.
• Just a reminder that I will be out of school on Monday afternoon (May 9th) and I will return on Tuesday morning (May 17th).
