A look at what we will be studying this week...........

We will be reading three great read alouds that have to do with making wishes. We will relate that to the wishes would like to make for rewards for good behavior. Using those read alouds we will also talk about character's feelings, our feelings, predictions, and writing a different ending to a story.
- In Math we will be discussing how turn around facts (6+3=9 and 3+6=9) help us to find the sums, and solving addition and subtraction facts by writing number sentences.
- In Social Studies, we will continue with lesson 2 from our Social Studies book "Living at Home and in the Neighborhood" and start lesson 3 "In and Around the City". Eagle League starts today. I have notes from Roberto, Isabella, Dempsey, Adriana, and Gerardo that they will be participating. PLEASE send a note with your child if they will be staying after school. I want to avoid tears and confusion at the last minute from your child! Thanks!
Hopefully you have seen that we have started marking the daily behavior. If you child did not have to change their card you will see that they have made a pencil line through the box. If they were on yellow, red, or blue the box would be colored according to what card they were on for the day.
You received information about paying for the parties. Please be sure and take care of that as soon as you can. Send in the deposit slip showing you made the deposit.
Remember to send in the 18 lps for the Values notebook. We have Values class today (Monday).- You need to be checking the Spanish Class blog for the weekly spelling list and other homework.
- You will also need to check the Art blog for homework. On the right hand side of our class blog you will see a link for the art teacher. Click on "Art". When you get to her page you will see on the left side of the art blog "My Class". Click on "Second" and it will give the art homework for the second graders. Our next art class will be on Thursday of this week. This is another blog you will need to keep up with on your own and know what day we have art so your child will be prepared with their homework.
