- In Language Arts we will be writing personal narratives about our Semana Santa. We will also be reading a book called Wump World by Bill Peet. It is a wonderful book about pollution.
- In Math we will start Chapter 12 - Measurement.
- In Science we will continue with our unit on Animals. We will be looking at Chapter 2 in the Science book.
This week's words have to do with Earth Day.
Spelling Words: garbage, trash, reuse, reduce, recycle, clean, dirty, litter, earth, green
Tuesday - Read for 15 minutes. Math WB 97, they will need a ruler. Please make sure the ruler is brought back to school each day.
Wednesday - Read for 15 minutes. Write a story using 8 of the 10 spelling words in the small journal.
Thursday - Read for 15 minutes. Complete "How Many Inches" W.S. and "Measurement" W.S. They will need a ruler. Please make sure the ruler is brought back to school each day.
A Few Other Things.................
- Please make sure your child brings in a water bottle each day.
- Continue having your child study the addition/subtraction facts. They know which test they are working on. They need to study to be able to pass.
- Friday will be a free Earth Day Color's Day (Wear greens, browns, and blues)
- Moto Minutos on Friday - 15 lps
- Mark your calendar: Mother's day will be on Thursday, May 5th from 9:00-9:50
- We have Library on Thursday.
- Please leave the reading calendar in the folder. We check EVERY Monday.
- Thursday will be an Earth Day Picnic. Students may still buy from the cafeteria but we are encouraging them to bring containers from home to but the bought lunch in. Those bringing lunches should bring a "trash free" lunch. Use containers and real napkins.
- We are out of kleenexes again! Please consider picking up an extra box to donate to the class the next time you are out shopping.
- We have run out of glue sticks! We are asking that the students bring in one glue stick to keep in their school box, they can be bought at the school store for 10 lps.
Mark your calendars! The musical is coming up soon! This week's rehearsals continue as normal.
